Geometry challenge.

Using basic geometry knowledge, please solve this problem:

Calculate the area of a triangle whose vertexes are the middle points of the sides of a
cube with "a" side.
The vertexes must be ubicated on sides which belong to different faces of the cube.

Quite challenging in fact, considering how much can a simple "a" can turn into a big
algebraic expression.
